WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 235

Clown Warning! Not a fan of clowns, this one is some sort of freaky hybrid clown/angel thing.

She (?) has a soft, floppy body and bisque/ceramic feet, hands and head. Was this used to frighten children?

Working on a theatre/music department version of Midsummer Night's Dream.....yes, I'm taking photos of the costume build. Stay tuned!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 234

Yesterday was Valentine's Day, which I'm not a fan of. No candy or flowers for me. I got these guys: The Night King from Game of Thrones. The one on the right glows in the dark.

DO YOU BUY YOURSELF GIFTS?

For no reason? Or you had a rough month? We open the 4th show of the year this coming week. And I've been having an after vacation bummer. I'd say that's the perfect time for a cheer up gift.

Bought myself a new thing from a on-line store called redbubble.

A beautiful scarf by the spygirl herself, Anne Bray. I'm art! And I think that one in the blue tights is Curtis Monk!  This is a way cool scarf, and the first day below 70, I'll be wearing it to work.

 And a sticker.

Finally, the hot glue burn I got 2 weeks ago is almost healed. Be careful when you're hot gluing eyebrows on a camel. (it's a childern's tour)

Me as more art. One of the students likes to draw, she made this of the costume shop crew. That's Cassy, me, Christie Jo and Clark. The Boss was up in her office doing teacher stuff, which is why she wasn't included.

YESTERDAY I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT ARMOR

We use this stuff

It's a thin, plastic that comes in different styles and eras.

To make it stronger and last, we papier mached it using wood glue. After it dried, the armor was painted using craft store paints, nothing fancy.

Here's some of the finished pieces lined up in the scene shop.

To add more detail, we glued bits and pieces of broken jewelry and added elastic to use as straps.

This armor was used in Pippen, which is the reason for the colorful paint job. As the "naked" aromr is white, it can be painted any color.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY,PART 233

This little guy gives "tin foil hat" a whole new meaning.

Nothing says "high security" like a baby in poufy stripped pants. Perhaps he's a musical theatre guard.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 232

Shall we jump down a Game Of Thrones rabbit hole? Ok.

Here's Tyrion Lannister, little brother of Cersei and Jaime. In the show he's played by Peter Dinklage, who's amazing. I'm ready for the next season and more than ready for the next book.
