WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 298

Stumbled across a post from a fellow named Matthew Thompson called Journey to the Island of Dolls. Have you heard about this place? It's on an island in the middle of Mexico City. And is covered with dolls.....creepy, weird dolls hanging in the trees and all over the place. I heard about this years ago and always wanted to let the weird dolls hang out in the backyard. I guess it will have to wait. Not a good idea to do when the house is for sale.

 WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 296

Looks like it really will be a year before season 8 of Game of Thrones. Here's Dany in her "going to recuse the menfolk while riding a dragon" doll, from season 7.

She always has some crazy mad braids. And here's a couple of photos of the real life coat.

It's pieced fur, turned inside out. I'm always so impressed with the work that goes into the costumes for this show.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 295

Winter is coming. Well, around here it's more like get ready for summer.

The Night King turned one of Dany's dragon into an ice dragon. How dare he!

Get back on and fly on out of here!

The couple of days between graduation and the start of PSST is a time I finish projects that are too time consuming during the school year. I've been sorting jewelry and fixing broken pieces. Man, my job is so awful, I get paid to play with jewelry. So far I've fixed about 2 dozen broken earrings and re-strung 4 necklaces. And I've sorted the earrings. Really, people? You don't know the difference between clip-on earrings and pierced? But now all the earrings are in the right boxes. At least I don't have to sort the huge button cabinet.......yet.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 294

The other afternoon, I was in the scene shop talking to the tech director. I looked over her shoulder and saw something I hadn't seen in years, and was surprised it was still hanging around.

I made this nun puppet in 1994!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was in a musical about nuns called Nunsence. I used an oven mitt for the base and a pair of torn tights. She's a tad dusty, but not too bad for a 24 years old prop.
