$606.51

For the past 10 years or so, I've been keeping a record of what I spend every year on clothes. In 2012, I spent $606.51. There's a good possibility I missed a couple of items. What did I buy?

13 dresses

10 pair of socks/tights/leggings

4 sweaters

2 tops

1 skirt

2 pj's

7 bras/panties

3 belts

3 pair of shoes

2 coats

The priciest item where a pair of Dr. Martins at $82, and the cheapest was a pair of Hue tights for a penny (used a coupon)  Which brings us to the lovely cover of American Vogue for Jan 2013. The total cost for the outfit the lovely Gwen Stefani is wearing is..........................$73,550.

jacket  $68,500

blouse  $1,950

bow (a freaking bow!) $585

trousers $895

hat $995

boots $625

So, I guess I did pretty good shopping last year!

On a completely unrelated topic, I was talking to a friend this afternoon. She was telling me about the ice storm that hit her town yesterday, all of a sudden I heard Scott Joplin music. I'm thinking how strange that someone on my street would be listening to ragtime. It was the local ice cream truck going by. From ice storm to ice cream,  and it's 79 here this afternoon.

Stay warm, my English friends and enjoy the beach my down under friends

Spanish moss in the pecan tree

SPANISH MOSS

This big clump fell off the pecan tree. No it doesn't grow on the ground, just everything else.

Hanging in the crape myrtle tree

The crape myrtle tree

Oak trees  one block over.  There a creek that runs through the middle of campus, so just for fun: The Valdosta State University River Otters!
For years nobody though they were real. I think they even have a facebook page. This has been on youtube for awhile.

 SPRING'S BEEN KIDNAPPED!

Coat, hat, boots? Yes, please. Coat was thrifted in North Carolina, I changed out the buttons, the leggings are really old

This dress was thrifted for $5.99, it still had the store tag on it, $98!  Really? I made trhe hat years ago, the belt was thrifted
Spanish moss photo bomb
I have  issues on how woman's clothes are sized. The dress I have on is labeled "size 18", the coat is labeled "size 24". No wonder women have body size issues. I buy something if it fits, to hell with the size.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY,  PART 29

Can't remember where I got this one. She's a big one and has a cloth body and a clay head. That's a water jug at her shoulder.  The writing on the label is faded and I can't read it.

 5 DAYS, 5 DRESSES

Monday: My new vintage coat. 3/4 sleeves and flouncy dress sleeves
Dress #1; black and white floral pattern

Tuesday: black and white dress with circles.

Wednesday: black and white dress with a black knit cape. I couldn't get a better shot of this one, the lighting outside sucked.

Thursday: Black and white dresses with squares

Friday: black and white dress with dots. The pattern made us dizzy. That's my story and I'm sticking too it.

5 black and white dresses on a black and white floor. Except for Thursday's dress, all the clothes were thrifted. Thursday's dress was from Ross's and was $15 or $20. The most expensive second hand piece was the vintage coat which was $11.75.  So for under $100, I got 5 outfits. Take Bella Q's pledge to shop second hand first, as you never know what you'll find! PS: I have 2 more black and white dresses, but next week I'm wearing color!

 HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'ALL

I had a lovely vacation visiting my BFF. I didn't take any photos, because I didn't feel like it. It was cold and rainy, but we had a blast. We watched a lot of art documentaries: one about Ai Wei Wei, another called Blank City, which is about the underground film scene in NYC in the late 70's/early 80's and Radiant Child, which is about Jean-Michel Basquiet. After that we, of course, had the watch Slaves of New York. Not that good of a movie, but Bernadette Peters is fun to watch. Also watched Simila's Sense of Snow and way to much Key and Peele. Of course we went shopping, what else do you do when the weather is not so good?
Purple plastic maracas and purple socks gifts. Mexican candy, fancy cookies(in the tin) yet another necklace, that orange thing is a citrus squeezer, a Sphinx ornament, and little bottle of crystal skull vodka(yeah, I bought it for the bottle, don't judge)
A bunch of stuff to make stuff, ie; more jewelry. How could I past on a sideshow calendar? I couldn't.

My sister-in-law sent me the plate, there's mimes! A huge flower pin/hair thingy, the ribbon rolls are from Halloween and cost a $1, Katy Perry knock-off perfume

2 pro photos of my niece's wedding. Cheap ass IKEA frames

All these Barbie's for $3! Can't imagine what I'll do with them.......

Yeah, I needed another b & w dress. This one is from Sushi Flowers, I didn't make that up.

Navy blue vintage slip

The lovely Roxi is modeling my new hat. The label says "Maudie's Millinery Charlotte, N. C" It cost $10 and I got it at Vintage Wear in Fort Mill S. Carolina. I added the pin. It pays to check out small towns, as you never know what you'll come across. There's also a cool junk shop called, I think Funky Junk.

Got this vintage coat w/fur color at Value Village. It's a little too small, but who cares?
Hope everybody was a wonderful 2013.
