THE WEDDING

I mentioned my friend's wedding yesterday, and realized I hadn't posted the photos. Three days after we got back is when I came down with the flu. Hmmm, maybe that's why I forgot.

My friend Abby married her love, Ben, in her home town of Rome, Georgia. It's north of Atlanta to the west. We drove up Saturday, went to the wedding that evening, left on Sunday and got home in time for the Super Bowl.

The reception was New Orleans themed. ( can you say Shrimp and Grits?)

First dance as Mr. and Mrs. Key.

I was great to hang out with some of the VSU Theatre alumni. Here's my friend Laura-Leigh.

 Me and The Doctor.

Beautifully simple wedding cake. It was Red Velvet not boring pound cake.

Are Groom's cakes a thing other places? Yes, it's R2 D2 in a tux. He was lemon with lemon curd.

 Cutting the cake.

Me and Abby flashing costume shop gang signs. We're "sewing"

Henry Higgins, AKA Olin Davidson leading the dance line.

 Alumni: Andrew, Kelsey, and Klye.

Me and more alumni: Ryan, Chris and Dennis.

It was a good thing that alumni were there, it can be rather strange to go to a wedding and only know the bride. We had a good time and it was really nice to see some of the "kids" I hadn't seen in a while.

  1. That looks like a lovely wedding. The bride looks fabulous - as do you and the Doc - and the cakes are brilliant. x

  2. "Costume shop gang signs"?! Now I'm imagining what sort of gang graffiti you inscribe on odd bits of scenery...

  3. I very much regret not having shrimp and grits at my reception now.
