SECRET PROJECT (99%) DONE!!!!!!!!

The secret project was a new floor for the kitchen and utility room. It was a secret, because between  Sept 13-17,  Ray was out of town (at a wedding in California). I had too much to do at work and couldn't take 3 days off. So I surprised him!

Here's the state of the floor. Those marks are from dropping a baking tray. Hot tray plus old lino = not good. I did like the fake brick.

Is that a hole? I'm sure the flooring was put in sometime during the 1970's. The lady we bought the house from moved in then. But come to think about it, Her parents owned the house since the 1940's, so it might have been that old.

Just call me "Muscles McGee". Well, it does have wheels and is pretty easy to move. So, 7 fun filled days, and 7 nights of sore muscles (thanks generic Aleve!) a new floor!

TA DA!!!!!!!!!!!! All that's left to do is put the 1/4 round edging back around. Oh, and clean the floor, cabinets and all the other dirty bits I saw while crawling around on the floor.  Next project: a bathroom floor.

I'll probably be posting some photos of the wedding I missed. Another niece got married. Sometimes my schedule is open and I can go to family events, and sometimes not.  We get blocks of time off, just not at the right time sometimes. We did go to a wedding yesterday morning. One of the Red Cross volunteers that Ray works with got married in the parking lot of the chapter's building. It was outside so all the firefighters she  works with could come (with their firetrucks!) It was casual and lasted about an hour. So Ray's 2 Saturdays, 2 Weddings! I didn't take photos, because I hardly know the woman.

Happy Fall!!!!!!

    1. It was easy. The tile is peel and stick. The hardest part was getting the dryer hose back on.
