The living room has a 14-foot ceiling. When we bought the house, the ceiling was just above the window top. Sometime in the 1970's an ugly lowered ceiling was put in, ya know ,to "save energy". We got the ceiling taken down in June, added a ceiling fan, and our July A/C bill was $100 lower than June. Gotta love the '70s! The paint color is periwinkle, but when the painters got paint to match, the store called it "Hannah Montana Purple" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! |
Hannah Montana Purple? That's hilarious! Periwinkle sounds so much classier! Our front door is a turquoise-y blue, and the paint was bizarrely called Californication! Is that appropriate?
ReplyDeleteYour high ceiling looks gorgeous. xx
Your room looks fabulous, I do love a high ceiling. The walls are a gorgeous colour but not being down with the kids I've no idea why Hannah Montana is a purple paint.
ReplyDeleteVery glad to hear that your friends are safe and that you've finally got a chance to wear a jumper! x
I think your periwinkle walls look lovely! And I love high ceilings and fireplaces in houses. I don't have a TV so although I've heard of Hannah Montana I've no idea why anyone would name a shade of purple after her.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look like Hannah Montana to me at all. Thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteLove the living room shot. Looks like something from a home decor magazine.
Drop ceilings!??? Don't get me started... Aaaack!!! I'm so glad you've exorcised that wicked '70s trend. What a beautiful room, yes, like a magazine.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous color and I love the high ceilings. And, go figure on the AC bill! Love that sweater you're sportin' too.
ReplyDeletePeriwinkle is much better!! you live in such an interesting house! xxx
