WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 118

Not a doll from my recent travels, but she could be. She's an old  tourist trade doll from probably the 1950's. I got her in an auction lot.

The brown beads on her necklace are seed pods.

  1. My best guess, based on the plump face, blanket and boots, is that this young lady is from a Pueblo -- probably a member of the audience watching the dances staged for tourists back in the 20s/30s. Can you identify her hair? The seed pods? And here's a really odd question, Thorne: does she smell smoky?

    1. No, she doesn't smell smokey. She smells dusty. Her hair is straight and feels like wool. The four brown beads are seeds of some sort

  2. Her face suggests she's smelled something a little unpleasant.
