WHAT TO CALL THIS POST? Home Decor on a budget? Nah. The not boring home? Nah. Welcome Home? No, no, no. Still can't come up with a title, this is the way I decorated my house. It's a mix of thrifted/second hand pieces, new stuff and whatever I like. Hope it's not too boring.
Chairs? You need them in your home.
This one was bought at a garage sale for $6. I found the fabric in a remnant pile and had the chair re-upholstered. The 3 pillows are from an estate sale. The rug (it's 12'6"x 9'6") is from ebay and is the most experience item in the house. With a pad and free shipping it was $900. My living room is really big.
Antique goose neck rocking chair was $25. I had this re-finished and re-upholstered at the same place as the other chair. The pillow is from Anthropologie and was on sale. If you watch Girls, it's the same one on Hannah's bed ( bitch stole my look)
The first chair and the stuff along the same wall. This wall is the combo plate of mix and match/ old and new. The white plant stand, stool and chair are second hand, The cabinet next to the chair is new, as are the lanterns. The stuffed armadillo was $10 at a yard sale. The Doctor loves armadillos.
I searched long and hard for a dinner room table. This is the leg detail on the one that was finally found. It's an antique cherry that open out to seat about 20 ( I'm not kidding) It starts out round and then fills the whole dining room. It didn't come with leaves, so I use wide planks from the home store, I added dowels so when guests put their elbows on the table the leaves don't go flying all over the place. Throw a table cloth on and nobody knows about the "leaves".
Got a lot of pins? Staple hogwire to the back of a yard sale frame, add a scrape of fabric and....tada! Pin storage. This is above the toilet in my bathroom.
My mother-in-law enjoyed painting, and lucky us, she was pretty damn good. This is a watercolor of poppies she painted in the early 1940's when she was a student at San Jose State Collage in California. The "wallpaper" are pages from 50 cent used paperbacks. Stick them up with modge podge.
Another one of her paintings.
A Russian church somewhere in Northern California.
The ugliest lion ever. It's a wall hanging I keep on the coffee table in the den, so I can put my feet on the table with out get the table top messed up. Like right now.
Next up: storage solutions. Doesn't that sound like fun?

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 204
Wednesday already? Should I bitch about the weather? No, oh, I sort of just did. Woke up at 6am, which is why I have time to do this post before going to work. Fingers crossed that the A/C in the building I work in is fix.
Shakespeare doll? He's called Marco and was designed by the same person who did the Cabbage Patch Dolls, those horrors from the 1980's. His tag is hanging from his left wrist, so I could look that up. Another auction find. He cost $2.50. I also got his matching female counterpart, she'll show up sometime soon.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 202
Got some new to me dolls at another auction. A whole bunch of little ladies with crocheted clothes.
She's so cute, not weird at all. She have both arms. Somebody spent a ton of time making her turn of the century dress.
It even has little buttons on the back.
Two days until opening night! Holy cow! Here's a taste:
The Beast and Belle.
