We've been a busy bunch all week. Sound of Music opens on June 1.

One rack of alterations..........

And another one!!!!!!! This is pretty much the costumes for A Little Night Music

It's sad when a co-worker goes crazy

We worn wigs on wednesday

The rest of the photos are from PSST!'s Facebook page

We have a fella working with us this summer

 See, I'm working.

 Co-worker regain her sanity!

 Busy, busy, busy

Our wig person. She has around 30-40 wigs to style and maintain. Oh, and she's in 2 of the shows

 A reminder.

At the end of the school year, I made the thread board neat and tidy.

Happy Memorial Day!   I'll post some costume photos some.

Got my renewed passport the other day, hmm.......perhaps a trip to Venice?    Or Vegas?

It sure was nice to have Monday off from work. We've gotten so much done on Sound Of Music. I must say, seeing the women dressed in their nun's costumes is bring back all sorts of memories.  Please don't hit my with that ruler! I'll be posting photos soon, stay tuned.

 HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy because we all got the day off. After a long week we needed it. Over Mother's Day weekend we went on a 4-day vacation to visit my BFF.  Of course, that means us ladies went shopping and Ray want hiking.

On Friday morning Ray did take me to IKEA, as my BFF had to work. I got this big pillow in the as-is room for $10. It's sitting in an antique goose neck rocker I found at a local charity shop for $25. When I took it to get re-finished the guy told me the chair was worth around $800.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, more jewelry. The gold pin and the icon bracelet were a buck a piece at a yard sale. The blue skull necklace is from Vera Wang Princess, which is a children's line. That and the rest are presents from the BFF.

3 books, $3. Who knew Edith Head wrote an advice book? It's from the 1960's

Here's one of the drawings from the Edith Head book. The lady (she looks like Ulla-Marie) is very upset that her man is not dressed for the cocktail party.

old patterns 10 cents a piece and a 2-disc Sweeney Todd DVD  form $1

3 vintage hats, $2 a piece. The tan ones is straw, the one creeping up Roxie is blue velvet with netting. It was hard to get a good photo of it. The third one is also velvet.

Roxie showing off her Vera scarf, ala The Great Gatsby.

Unlabeled silk scarf and 2 ties. The narrow one is vintage and the other one still has the $45 price tag from Brooks Brothers. We went to 3 thrift stores and they all had racks and racks of beautiful ties. Why do men buy new ties?

Mint green 2-piece "Helga" dress from Sear's.

Score! Black rayon velvet dress in MY SIZE!!!!!!!!!!! $2!!!!!!! I'd be wearing it right now if it wasn't hot and humid. Damn, I'll have to wait until fall

Nanna sweater in teal. No side seams or label.  I wore this on Monday when it was cool.

 Here's a close up

A man's sweater from the 1960's.  That was Saturday morning. We had lunch at a dim sum restaurant called "Dim Sum". It's on Central in Charlotte, N. Carolina.  Besides a lone man, we were the only non-Asians in the place. The last time I had dim sum was in San Francisco about 20 years ago. This place was just as good.

After lunch. we went to Nordstrom's Rack. The large hairflower was $4 and the 2 other flower's are from Ikea and they were $3

Got a new pair of boots from DSW.  Cowboyish and embroidery? Yeah, makes sense that they'd be from a company called London Rebel.

Oh,no! I've been reduced to taking selfies in the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember these from a couple of months ago? The $4  Prada's now have a new home with the BFF. She got an early birthday gift. It's been a busy week but I was able to snap a few photos of what we've been doing. So stay tuned. Until next time!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 46 (Where no weird doll has gone before)

I admit it: I love Star Trek and in honor of Into Darkness opening on Friday, a special edition of Weird Doll Wednesday. I was having a hard time with glare.

Data and Jean-luc

Troi and Sisko
O'Brian (he was on 2 shows) Dr Bashir and Kira

Barbie as "Yeomen Janis" and Ken, being Ken

Sorry about the glare
This one is a Jem Hadar(sp), Seven of Nine and Mrs. O'Brian (she was on 2 shows, too)
Riker and Worf in school

more crap glare!!!!!!!
Troi, Lilly, Data, Worf, Dr. Crusher and Zefron Cockren form 1st Contact.

There's are the coolest

They light up and have different transporter sounds.

Now you know. I've been a fan since the original show back in the 60's. It's had to believe it's still popular, just like The Rolling Stones and Dr. Who. In the next couple of weeks I'm going to be crazy busy, we did 9 hours of costume fittings Tuesday! I'll be posting when I can. I've got some stuff to show you from my mini-vacation (3 thrift shops in 1 day, yes please) See you soon!

Guess I should have posted her last week, for Cino de Mayo. Love that she still has the box.

Also linked up with Bella Q over at Citizen Rosebud for shoeshine. I wore these Ecco sandals to Greece 2 Junes ago, AKA the best vacation ever. I'd like to think that they still have the ancient dust of Athens on them.  That's Bella on the screen, sometimes I have issues linking up. So this is back-up! Stay tuned for next weeks special edition of Weird Doll Wednesday( hint: we'll be going where no doll has gone before)

Last Saturday was graduation for the class of 2013!

Patrice, Student Assistant #1.

Rebecca, Student Assistant #2
8 of our Theatre and Dance grads. They all have jobs! And Eli is going to grad school in the fall. (she's the really happy one behind Patrice) We're flashing the costume shop gang sign.

The jewelry I won and picked up in the morning

We went to Rebecca's house afterwards for a party. She and her family live in the countryside about 45 minutes away. Too bad it was raining and we all had to stay inside. It did let up for a few minutes, so we ran outside to see the new chickens.

One of the chickens. I can now cross "pet a chicken" off my bucket list.

More chickens and the rooster

On Sunday, the rain stopped. We had a Cino de Mayo dinner.

I've had this tray so long I don't even remember buying it.

and after margaritas.  I told him not to be so goofy.
Bunch of new books.

The Cabinet of Wonders was half price. I have one, AKA "shelf of shit", "cupboard of crap", I'll have to do a post about it some day soon.  Two copies of the Frida paperdolls, one for me and one for my BFF.

I broke my pledge to myself about buying make-up until I used up what I have. But 32 colors for $5? Would you pass that up? The big flower can be a hair clip or a brooch.

Love lemon curd. And a chestnut knife

More jewelry. It's hard to pass up brand new jewelry at thrift store prices. The bangle was $2.99 at Dillards and the heart and key are from Forever 21. ON Sunday's shopping trip I didn't find any clothes or shoes that I was willing to buy.  $100 for a dress? Not today.

The rain has gone and it's all pretty out. Got some weeding done yesterday and this morning and hit the garden centers. I always check the half off racks. Today I got 5 plants for $16. Hope they don't die! Days off until Monday, then 6 weeks of crazy summer stock.

3 Cheers for vacation!
