Best friends. I think these ladies are from The Islands, but I don't know which one. The yellow dress is made from upside down Hello Kitty fabric! How cool this that?

Well do ya?

Which one do you like? Spent Saturday and Monday making jester hats for the dance concert. Hope the director likes them!

The Boss trying to poke my eye out with a jingle bell.

Goofing off? What do you mean "no goofing off"?  We're in charge around here.

Geez, my nose looks long. See those large stitches? Using the 10-foot rule you won't. The 10-foot rule: If you can't see it from 10-feet, neither will the audience

Thinking about whether I can sneak some ball fringe and tassels on these puppies

All the jewelry I was wearing, no rings, the hats had a lot of hand sewing and the thread gets tangled on them. The cat is Betsey Johnson, the owl earrings are forever 21, everything else is gifted or thrifted. The socks are Missioni For Target ( yes, I wore socks for the first time in ages) the sweater is thrifted

My student assistant #1, Patrice had her 22nd birthday last Friday.  She found this lovely dress at Ross, best part, it was 2 sizes smaller that the last dress she bought! Yeah, Patrice! I gave her the lovely vintage scarf. I'm channeling a zebra.

My sort of matching bag is Besty Johnson and for the first time since March, I'm wearing my boots.
Hugs from Elie, one of our tech students

Partice and student assistant #2 Rebecca. Rebecca frocks on Friday sometimes, but she was on her way to teach a pottery class at the Boys and Girls Club. She would have been a frocking mess after that.

Rebecca lookng fetching in one of the show's hats and her Saint's Super Bowl shirt. All the girls got professional theatre jobs last summer. Ellie in lighting design, Patrice and Rebbecca in costuming. Keeping track 24 of our student s got professional jobs last summer. Way to go!

Pine tree that was in front of the FAB. If it would have fallen the other direction, it would have hit the building. Photo be Julie Bowland
It pulled the power lines in front of our building down, but strangely, the power stayed on

One of my co-workers. She's about 5'4". It was a really tall tree

The other tree at the entrance to the parking lot

The first tree, looking towards the building

The parking lot tree. Yes, it's twisted! Photo by Julie Bowland

Around the corner from my house
The parking lot tree. You can make out the car next to the man in the yellow slicker. The driver wasn't hurt and her car wasn't damaged. Luck her.

My front yard. Missed my friend's car.

The clean-up is still going on. Photo by Julie Bowland. There was another tree that blocked the street in front of the university. It was lucky nobody was injured and no buildings were damaged.  This wasn't a hurricane, just a pop-up thunderstorm that blew thought in about 30 minutes.

On Monday, Neil and I went thrifting. I found this table runner at Thrift Town in San Leandro. Slim pickings, but I was secretly happy I didn't find a tons of stuff I couldn't take on the plane

A ton of jewelry Elissa gave me.
We had to get up at 3:30am to take the rental car back and get to the airport by 5:30 am. I'll admit I was nervous about flying on 9/11, but it was fine. We got home around 9pm, a long day indeed.
