WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 279
Back to the normal Wednesday post. My first assignment this semester was to make this...............................................
Yes, I'm now making weird dolls at work. She's for the opera, which is an Aaron Copeland opera set in the 1930's ( I can't remember the name of it). The doll is a stuffed fiber fill head, covered in scrape muslin. With a 2-piece outfit made from torn strips for fabric. I used a 12" long piece of wood from the scene shop as her body, tied a scrape of muslin around her "chest" for arms, did the same thing for legs. Her hair is yarn that I made into tracks--AKA a weave--and hand stitched onto her head. Cost of project---zero.
Last week at this time(11am) it just stopped snowing, today it's going to be 72! Insane!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY...NOPE, WEIRD WEATHER!
Here in the Deep South ( almost Florida) we're having a strange cold snap. It's dropping into the mid-20's overnight. I woke up this morning to frozen rain.
Icicles on my roof.
Ice covering the trash can.
Ice everywhere. Around 9:30am, I looked out the window and it was SNOWING!!!!!!!!!The last time that happened was 1989! We ran outside, along with half the neighbors, to enjoy the snow.
Big fat flakes! The Doctor is walking in the street.
The deck out the back window.
The back steps.
Snow on the palmetto palms.
The saucer filled up, so.................................
I made a snowball. An icy snowball, would have made a good snow cone, but I throw it at The Doc.
When I went to work at 1pm, snow was still on the ground, at 5pm it was pretty much all gone. Now it's going to be a very cold night. There were also something like 85 accidents this morning. People here don't know how to drive in ice and snow. Good news, by next Monday it will be 68!
Stay warm, and drive safely if you're in the storm zone!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 275
OH, NO! It's December, that means a SANTA post. It's December, already? I'm just happy this Fall Semester is over (ok, 2 more days). Last day of work for 2017 is the 15th.
Here's a sweet vintage Santa. I've had this guy so long I don't even remember where or when I got him. He isn't from my childhood, but could have been.
