Night, night! My internet connection was down for 2 days or I would have posted Dogland on Sunday. We got married in 1979! Yikkies! By the way, Hurricane Isaac is not even making it rain here. New Or lanes is about 7 hours west of us. Fingers crossed the storm stays a cat 1

I'M CRAFTY AND I KNOW IT

I found these around the corner on my morning walk. Boo Hoo, these's a Mazda without it's hubcaps driving around town

Wash off all that nasty road dirt( leave a little for patina)

Use that spray paint bought 6 months ago and while I'm at it, spray the switch plates. Always use a drop cloth.

Gather all the other stuff

Hang up and add a candle. Now off to the dog rescue house! Which explains my dog friendly clothes. Have a lovely weekend!

WE MADE ALL THESE DRESSES THIS SUMMER

One of the musicals we did this summer for Peach State Summer Theatre (PSST!) was The Light In The Piazza. It's set in Italy in 1953. We made these dresses using vintage and re-issued vintage patterns.

 Margaret, I had both of them.

Margaret. I made the dress on the right. We had to change the way it opened to be able to do a costume change.The bodice opens and so does the buttons on the right skirt

Clara, Margaret's daughter. I made the one in the middle.The white one is a wedding dress. All the full-skirted dresses had crinoline petticoats.

There were also 2 maid dresses (boring). The cast had 12 named characters plus 10 ensemble parts.Piazza was the lat show of the rep season, the other 2 show where Legally Blonde and Go Dog Go. PSST is a summer stock rep house, which means we have 6 weeks to get 3 full-on musicals up and running. The shows ran from june 2nd to july 15th, My kind of fun.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 7

Hi, it's me, Raggedy Ann. Not really, my sister-in-law made this for me years ago. She used to make them for a charity that gave them of children that had some kind of trauma happen ( a fire, abuse, death of a parent), it was a great thing to do.

IT'S BEEN RAINING ALL DAY

Egads! I'm wearing a twin set,  sort of.  And standing in front of a whole mess of fabric

My boss (AKA The Boss) bought the stock from a closed fabric store. Lace. anyone?

THE WEDDING

The old movie theater were the reception was held, in downtown Fort Valley, Georgia

The bride's cake. The color theme was yellow and purple, with sunflowers. The table decorations were vintage books, postcards, perfurm bottles, and gloves.

The groom's cake. A Southern tradition, hmm, is the groom a  fishermen?

All the beverages were in old fashioned spigot bottles

IT'S FROCKDAY!

Here's me in the dress I bought last Sunday. Doesn't look like much on a hanger, looks pretty good on.

I'm sitting on some of the new furniture in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building (The FAB) we're I work. There's lots of chairs and benches, nice and comfy.

We stopped for coffee at Starbucks and this huge fireworks store had been built next door. 

Today's jewelry. That orange necklace is YSL that I got in an auction grab bag. 10 pounds for $35! Everything else was gifted from Marlene except the posts. They were a Christmas gift for a nephew years ago.

It's the first day of fall semester, how can August be fall? It's 90F (around 30C) again, humid as hell and it'll probably rain this afternoon. Yeah!
