FINALLY, AN OUTFIT POST
I know, it's been awhile. And I'll stop whining about the weather.
Not too matchy macthy? I had to bribe Mr. Scooty to stay in the kitchen. That green bag is cat treats.
And pets.
The pattern sort of matches the floor. And the skirt is crazy full.
Perfect for twirling!
See ya later!
The dress was thrifted and so was the cardigan. The legging, belt and head band are from Target. Cat was also second hand.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 65
She's an Eskimo. Maybe by posting her, the weather will change. I'm writing this at 10:30am and it's 75, pretty sweet? NO!!!! The humidity is 89% and it's sort of drippy, not rain, just drippy. Maybe Fall will happen next week.
Maybe when it changes seasons, I'll do more outfit posts. I've been in a bit of a rut the past couple of weeks. It's not like I've been wearing the same stuff since June! I'll have to remember where all my cooler weather clothes are.
Until next time..........

SECRET PROJECT (99%) DONE!!!!!!!!
The secret project was a new floor for the kitchen and utility room. It was a secret, because between Sept 13-17, Ray was out of town (at a wedding in California). I had too much to do at work and couldn't take 3 days off. So I surprised him!
Here's the state of the floor. Those marks are from dropping a baking tray. Hot tray plus old lino = not good. I did like the fake brick.
Is that a hole? I'm sure the flooring was put in sometime during the 1970's. The lady we bought the house from moved in then. But come to think about it, Her parents owned the house since the 1940's, so it might have been that old.
Just call me "Muscles McGee". Well, it does have wheels and is pretty easy to move. So, 7 fun filled days, and 7 nights of sore muscles (thanks generic Aleve!) a new floor!
TA DA!!!!!!!!!!!! All that's left to do is put the 1/4 round edging back around. Oh, and clean the floor, cabinets and all the other dirty bits I saw while crawling around on the floor. Next project: a bathroom floor.
I'll probably be posting some photos of the wedding I missed. Another niece got married. Sometimes my schedule is open and I can go to family events, and sometimes not. We get blocks of time off, just not at the right time sometimes. We did go to a wedding yesterday morning. One of the Red Cross volunteers that Ray works with got married in the parking lot of the chapter's building. It was outside so all the firefighters she works with could come (with their firetrucks!) It was casual and lasted about an hour. So Ray's 2 Saturdays, 2 Weddings! I didn't take photos, because I hardly know the woman.
Happy Fall!!!!!!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 64
Hansel and Gretel?
After I took the photos, I realized they match. He has a string on his head, which makes me think they're Christmas ornaments. They are only about 3" tall.
I spent Friday-Tuesday working on a secret home improvement project when I wasn't at work. I didn't finish it, but when I do, I promise I'll post some photos. The Doctor went to California for a wedding, that's why it was a secret project. I had too much to do with the dance concert and couldn't go....boohooo.
Speaking of which, the swan costume is almost finished. Damn, sewing stuff on a tutu is hard work! And getting a tiny ballet costume on the dress form takes 2 people! But it looks awesome, if I don't say so myself

$13.77
That's what this whole bag of clothes cost. Another sale at the Salvation Army.
Light yellow vintage coat, with all the buttons.
1970's maxi coat from Alice Inman Specialty Shop in Highland, North Carolina.
Red corduroy smoking jacket. A Sea Island Treasurobe says the label.
Pretty Pendleton woman's suit. Made in Portland
Here's a close-up.
Size 18 seersucker suit, that , of course, doesn't fit me. Damn woman's sizing! |
Men's suede jacket, missing the zip out lining.
Woman's Men's wear vest from Target. |
Not bad for a quick stop on the way the to supermarket. Geez, maybe I should open a store.
By the way, I will be posting photos of the Dying Swan costume, and some performance shots. The show open the first weekend of October.

DO YOU LIKE MY NEW SWEATER?
Well, do ya? Thrifted mohair sweater, size 3x......don't get me started.....
Hmmm, toasty warm. To bad the heat index on Wed. was 105!!!! I'll be saving this for later, way later in the year. (Like December)
I'm wearing this today. Black maxi that I can't get photoed right.
Action shot with hair that will not be long and all over the place. It's too hot, it'll be up in a bun.
Some new books to read. Jo Nesbo's first Harry Hole finally available here.
The coolest coloring book ever!
Mr. Scooty hanging out
Our first show of the season opened last night. We move on to the the dance concert. I'm designing 3 dances. One of which is almost done, next week I get to channel my inner Anna Pavola and make a modern take on her Dying Swan costume. Then a waltz and a cha cha. Hm, guess that's 4 dances!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 62
We're staying in France this week. Oh, la la! Check out all the little details on this one. Don't know what I like best; the hatbox or the cute knitted bag. I'm holding her by the head, well, because her head is broken off. Maybe I can fix her.
This is the tag on her petticoat.
