WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 275
OH, NO! It's December, that means a SANTA post. It's December, already? I'm just happy this Fall Semester is over (ok, 2 more days). Last day of work for 2017 is the 15th.
Here's a sweet vintage Santa. I've had this guy so long I don't even remember where or when I got him. He isn't from my childhood, but could have been.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 271
Another installment of Game of Thrones theatre. Battle of the Bastards edition. AKA, Jon and Ramsey fight over Winterfell. The Boltons took over Winterfell, home of the Starks and the Starks aren't happy about it.
Sansa: will you listen to me, I was married to Ramsey! Don't trust him!
Jon: He has Rickon! We're going in.
Sansa: Good thing I have Plan B. Stupid men.
Tormund: You should have listened to your sister.
Ramsey: You can have Rickon back ( if he makes it)
Proceeds to shoot arrows as Rickon runs toward Jon.
Everybody watching: Zig zag, Rickon, zig zag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rickon is now a pincushion.
Jon Snow charger ahead, not listening to Sansa and gets into a pickle.
photo from HBO. Real horses, not CGI |
The bodies start piling up. Jon almost "drowns" in them.
Sansa: Thanks, Littlefinger, for helping with Plan B and bringing The Knights of the Vale to the recuse.
Littlefinger: No problem, Sansa. Have I told you how much you remind me of your Mother, my one true love?
Sansa: Later, Dude. (inwardly cringing)
After the Knights of the Vale show up, Ramsey high-tails it back to Winterfell with Jon, Tormund and Wun Wun the Giant in tow.
Ramsey: Take that! Killing possibly the last giant.
Jon catches up to Ramsay and beats the holy hell out of him for about 10 minutes. At least it seemed like it. Ramsay get drug off the the dungeons.
Sansa shows and tells him he was a crap ass husband and turns he own dogs on he. The Starks are back in control of Winterfell and all is good in Westeros.
Except the Winter is Really Coming and Cersei is still sitting on the Iron Throne.
Until next time.

WERID DOLL WEDESDAY, PART 267
Last weeks Trump Troll was a big hit. I didn't see the likeness until a lot of you mentioned it. So, for equal time, here's Hilary's Basket Of Deplorables.
No hurricanes this week, but my heart is breaking over the endless fires in California. My home state is burning. My loved ones and family are ok.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 263
Let's get the boring stuff out of the way.......a hurricane named Irma flew over our town. We live far enough inland that she was a tropical storm by then. I hate wind. We lost power for 36 hours.....no TV, no internet, no a/c. Good thing the storm cooled the area down. Power came back on at 8pm Tuesday. We're fine and no damage to our house.
My friend in Houston is still cleaning up the props storage at the theatre where she works. 10,000 square feet of storage will take a lot of time. She's been sending me doll photos.
Let's call this one Irma. There'll be more and more Game of Thrones scenes recreated coming soon.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 262
Another week, another hurricane or three. The next couple of week should be interesting. Hurricane Irma won't be near where I live until Monday, lots of time to freak out and worry about a different set of friends.
My four friends that live in Houston came through Harvey pretty much in tack. I have a friend who does props for the Ally Theater, which got flooded out. There's a interesting photo essay on the Houston Chronicle's web site, if you're interested. One photo was perfect for today.

She was floating around the props storage and ended up on a table. It's freaky that her face is clean.
Stay safe and dry my friends in Florida.

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 260
The season 7 finale of Game of Thrones is on Sunday. Here's my tribute to the trailer.
Hanging around the dragonpit:
"Should have blown this dump up, too. How dare they make me, Queen Cersei, first of her name etc, ect, wait"
"Chill out, Sis. They brought a present (damn, it better not be that dragon)"
The Dragon Has Three Heads, I mean, Jon Snow Starke Tragaryen, AKA The King in The North, Daenerys Targaryen, Stormborn, Breaker of Chains, ect, ect, ect and Tyrion Lannister, Hand of The Queen.
"We brought you a gift from beyond the wall"
"Ewe, it stinks! I don't believe in grumkins, snarks or whatever this is!"
"And I brought Drogon"
Ser Bronn of the Blackwater:" Dude, I told ya, my loyalty ends at dragons. I'm on the next boat to Essos"
Meanwhile, Beyond The Wall: 1 down and 2 to go. bwahahaha!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 258
And now, Game of Thrones theatre................................
My name is Tormund. Tormund Gaintsbane. I'm a Free Folk from beyond the wall. My life was going good, until she walked into it.
She's big and blond and carries a big sword. It was love at first sight. Her name's Brienne.
Hold your horses, Gingerbread! I'm a maiden and a maiden I'll stay! Be off to Eastwatch-By-The-Sea!
But I love you!!!!!!!!!
Yo, Brienne! I'm back.
Ok, my future as a playwrite needs some work.

SUMMER FUN, AKA PSST HIJINKS
Found some more photos from the summer shows.
The second show was Forever Plaid. Which is about a singing group that comes back after being killed in a car accident in the early 1960's. I know, the "feel good" show. It's a juke box musical, which is a show with a very thin plot that has a ton of oldies. It only have a cast of 4, plus 2 musicians. Can you say "The easy show"? Andrew Poston, Olin Davidson, Imari Thompson and Steven Bidwell.

In the background: on stand up bass, Trent Harper. Piano, David Springfield.
A show like Shrek has a major make-up challenge: The actor has to wear a rubber headpiece, a nose, green make-up, over sized rubber hands and a fat suit. There's a company that makes the headpieces, hands and ears.
Here's the finished look. Alexander Mendoza and Erika Moore, make-up artist.
Here's what Alexander looks like in My Fair Lady, where he played Freddy Eynsford-Hill. Quit a difference.
After before and after. Shrek wasn't the only one that worn the make-up. You can see Papa Shrek behind Erika, and Mama Shrek, Fiona, and Baby Shrek also wore the make-up. They got spandex hoods with the ears attached instead of the head piece. They had to change to other characters during the show.
After show meet and greet with a group of happy children.
Three Little Pigs just hanging around in the hall. Cal Bumgardner, Brandon Chandler, Terrance Searcy.
All dressed up for the Embassy Ball from My Fair Lady. Meredith Morse, Terrence Seacry and Alexandria Joy.
A couple of swells hanging around waiting for the show. Neal Mayer and Alexander Mendoza (both Actors Equity) ready to go on in My Fair Lady.
Hope you enjoyed the post!
All the photos belong to the people in them, except where noted.
