WHAT THE........?????????? ANOTHER FRIDAY THE 13TH?
What better day than to post about another creepy graveyard? We visited this one on Wednesday. The Doctor has been finding places near by to visit. This graveyard is about an hour east of town, out in the middle of nowhere. It's called Mud Creek Primitive Church Cemetery. Sometimes around here "primitive" means "snake handlers" (that's a whole other post)
I don't think I've ever seen a metal marker before. Hmm, wonder what happened to Helen? I know someone named Brogdon, wonder if he's related?
There are about 273 interments here according to a find grave. There seemed to be a strangely large number of infant and children's graves, which was freaking me out.
This is not snow, but white sand. I just realized that this looks b&w, but it is in color. Lived for a day.
I've seen a photo on-line of this marker, before the top cross was worn away. Wooden marker, no name = sadness. Who was this person?
Children's graves.
See, what I mean? More children, some of these just said "infant last name" Poor things, didn't live long enough to be named. The white building in the background is the church.
Same family.
I hope that wasn't too depressing. I couldn't find anything on-line about this area. With so many infants and children I was wondering if some tragedy had happened, but all the graves are from different to time periods, the most recent one was 2008.
To counter all that gloom, here's some Spring Time
Next time a happy post!

WEIRD DOLL WEDNESDAY, PART 138
Spring has sprung around here a week or so early
The two beautiful ladies welcome Spring.
Not much going on. I have started reading A Game of Thrones, so that will keep me busy for months. I'm about 1/4 of the way through book 2 (bought second hand, of course). Never seen the HBO show (I'm too cheap to pay extra). Maybe one day I'll come across the DVD's second hand.

VEST? SKIRT?
You must remember this.........
After days (weeks?) I finally found a pattern that worked. One problem with using already made clothes, is finding a pattern that fits the fabric. I searched the 5 file cabinets of patterns and found a couple things that I really liked. To bad there wasn't enough fabric. So I made..............
A floppy hat!
Perfect for the next festival ( I joke) or Renn Fair (I joke times 2). I did have to go to the fabric store and buy lining fabric and some thread.
All this was leftover and know I'm thinking about looking for some more printed corduroy and making a patchwork something or other.
Saw this idea on A Beautiful Mess and had to do it.
The whole project cost about $15 including both plants. And, yes, I wore my new hat to the home store.
For the first time in ages, I'm sharing over at Hat Attack. See ya later!

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE SPORTING GOODS STORE
Polar fleece and sweat pants? Right.
Velvet dress and a velvet coat is more like it.
Both the dress and coat are thrifted. The purple legging are old as dirt and the blue scarf is from Morocco (no I've never been there) it's so old I forgot I had it! Boots are from DSW and the heart necklace was my Valentines gift. It's Betsey Johnson and was 40% off 50%, so it was $8.
Mr. Scooty approves of the cuddle blanket.
I've found a couple of bargains at the thrifts lately
This pretty McCoy planter was 50cents!
Lovely guide to London. There's on date on this, the graphic cover is to cute . 5', how much is that?
Inside the front cover was this note "page 40-41". The book has ready good maps. What could be on those pages?
Who ever owned this book wanted to make sure they knew where Soho was. They even drew a pencil outline around it.
This sweat box was only a buck. On the bottom it says "Everything Export Florance" Too pretty to pass up.
A kids biography of Ben Franklin from 1968. It left out the racy bits.
The sun came out today for the first time in 3 days. Rain but no snow, so I shouldn't complain. Stay warm and Spring is just around the corner or hiding in a warehouse somewhere.
About the trip to the sporting goods store, The Doctor needed some new tube socks. It was fun, I didn't buy anything.
